Happy New Year!

A new year means new goals and new services. We are so proud of the 2025 JJWAA accomplishments by members, the executive board and committees, to include productive and fun-filled community events such as the well attended Sock Hop, Friends and Family Day and the 2026 JJWAA Scholarship Banquet. We will build upon these with some modifications.

1. First we are  surveying the membership to determine interest in a Spring Dance, Community Social Gathering or Spring Fling Dance. Please respond to this communication with a YES or NO to state your interest in attending. Also, please note your interest in assisting in the planning.  WE need your expertise! An outline of committee activities, caterers and music contacts has been developed for  events. Event planning will cater to and depend upon member interest.

2. We are able to coordinate with JJW Graduation Classes to allow Class Reunions during and along with the JJWAA Friends and Family Day. The Class of 1959 has requested to do so for the July 18, 2026 event. Plans are underway. All JJW classes, friends and families are invited to the 2026 activity.

3. The JJWAA Webmaster, Sharon Taylor McGlone is developing a new service for members to purchase ads on the JJWAA Website. This is a new scholarship fund raiser for business ads. We are proud of the J J Wright students who are business leaders, vendors and entrepreneurs, therefore, we would like to enlighten the community of their services. Memorial ads and announcements are also welcome. Costs of ad spaces are being discussed.

4. The 2026 Scholarship/Stipend Application Announcement was posted on the JJWAA website and the newsletter two months early to allow applicants to begin the planning, information collection and application development during winter breaks instead of rushing during spring breaks. 2026 Eligibility modifications were made.

Membership is still the first qualifier. See SCHOLARSHIP at jjwalummi.org .

5. JJWAA MEMBERSHIP registration is simplified by on-line services. See MEMBERSHIP at  jjwalumni.org. or contact Renna Alsop Washington at rla2722@aol.com for paper copy registrations.

Stay tuned for more JJWAA excitement to come in 2026 !!

JJWAA President,
